Roland Arnold won the title of the “Most encouraging company in the country at a festive Gala with over 350 guests from politics, industry and the media in Tipi am Kanzleramt (a tipi by the Federal Chancellery).
The award reflects the creative strength and spirit of innovation with which Roland Arnold gives people with disabilities new courage to become mobile.
Exemplary entrepreneurs have often had to fight hard for their success. This is also extremely true of Roland Arnold. He started out right at the bottom. In a small garage workshop on his parents’ farm the ambitious car mechanic developed his first innovations with the objective of providing mobility for disabled persons. Initially mocked a little, at 44 he is now world market leader for individually adapted vehicles for the disabled. His Paravan Mobility Park encompasses a development and patent department, production halls, and an advisory centre for customers with handicaps. Tailor-made high-tech vehicles are created out of standard models over an area of 50,000 square metres. Thanks to sophisticated electronics, mechanics and digital technology, even persons with severe disabilities are able to drive cars for themselves. The products made by the Swabian boffs are in demand worldwide, even in New Caledonia.
At the New Palace in Stuttgart Roland Arnold received the highest distinction for entrepreneurs from Ernst Pfister, Minister of Economic Affairs in Baden-Württemberg. Roland Arnold’s endeavours for the wellbeing of disabled people all over the world impressed the high-calibre jury which carried out the test procedure at the suggestion and based on the report of the certified court expert under public law, Oliver Raach.
Invited by the German Chancellor, Roland Arnold provided information and discussed the concerns of persons with reduced mobility – their needs and desires, bureaucratic obstacles and of course concrete visions of a unrestricted mobility.
